but some good things in it. The layout looks more relaxed. But as you said, we could swap everything all month long.

If you end up with two solutions you like, may be you could also provide two skins ?

i did 2 skins with Adlais last time

i think the lighter layout will suit a quad euclidean percussion thing nicely

    this one:

most things work – there’s a few small changes to workflow

grid drawing is still an issue – thought i’d fixed it

i am wondering how useful the grid is compared to 2 or 4 euclidean things

    thoughts anyone?

from a bit frivolous point of view, it can be seen as a fresh way to triggers things and could attract curiosity. Also so many euclidean stuff on the pile. But if you feel it’s a dead end, well IDK…

    cheers philippe

    i don’t think its a dead end

i have loads of ideas for grid sequencers

just tired – i’ve been staring at it too long 🙂

i fixed the grid drawing issue – last major bug

i’ll start on the manual next

here we go – this is close to a release candidate

i think all major bugs fixed

there is a warning in max console to sort out

the only other thing is that once the grid is drawn into you can’t a/b as it loses what has been drawn

which is really annoying… thinking about it…

    labelling to re-do/complete

    started on the manual

    alfred_flow

    a kind of flow diagram

    diagram is useful

    Intro:

‘The following describes the generation of notes by 2 independent, parallel systems – only the Grid Fill Pattern is shared:

    alfred_flow

    ·       A ‘Fill Pattern’ is generated onto the 8*8 Grid by using the ‘Fill’ control

    ·       Two ‘Step Patterns’ can be ‘drawn’ onto the ‘Grid’ using a mouse/touchpad/whatever

    ·       Each ‘Step Pattern’ has its own Clock Pulse Generator (CPG)

    ·       The ‘Clock Pulse Generators’ emit regular pulses at a division of Live’s tempo

    ·       A ‘Step Pattern’ advances one step for every pulse received from it’s CPG

    ·       Every time a ‘Step Pattern’ steps onto a highlighted ‘Grid Square’ a trigger is generated and sent to the Timbre and Pitch Generators

    ·       Each trigger (not Pulse) advances the Timbre Generators by 1 step and the Pitch Generator (Scale Scan) by 1*Skip steps

    and so on…

is there any point being able to draw onto the grid?

we draw patterns – can always change them for same results

    duplication of function?

we already do, don’t we ? Or explain please

k – i been playing with alfred a lot today

does alfred need the grid fill draw function?

    or

are the two coloured pattern draw functions enough?

    simple example:

i already have coloured patterns drawn

i fill the grid and – let’s say – none of the grid squares line up to the pink pattern

    i could add a square – 1 click

or i could change the coloured pattern – two clicks

    both achieve the same results

i’m just wondering whether there are too many options

(plus i can’t figure out a solution to alfred remembering hand drawn squares)

well I agree. I always thought that the Grid existence was required for internal stuff, for patterns or what so ever. But if filling colours on empty Grid cells do not actually produce anything (no audible trig) and if not necessary internally, well it seems unnecessarily complicated…

    kk

i’m going to simplify Grid control

    and ramp up clock stuff…

direction controls and some other stuff
