ParticipantIn case you thought I’ve gone mute, I attempted two links (the chain link button above to a dropbox audio file) to audio snippets last week, pressed SUBMIT, and watched my forum entries vanish. I didn’t try the attachments option because the audio was beyond the size limit, and on one occasion I did try to submit a comment with two active links.
Easy enough to repeat, however I left my impressions of the current beta at the time, and my wording and ideas are rarely something I want to repeat. I probably would have obsessively SELECT ALL + COPY before I submitted, as I habitually do, however the last action was probably to have copied the address to the link.

Keymasterhey there
great to hear from you
sorry for the hassle – so this is a bit of a test message
link chain will only link to URLs and will automatically open in a new tab (yay for plugins) without going into settings:
social media sites auto embed but open in this tab:

the inline image icon next to the link chain and the attachments functionality are plugins –
please let me know if there are any issues or if you have ideas for greater functionality
i’ve increased the attachment limit to 25mb and 4 max – if you don’t think that’ll be enough i’ll increase it again
but not sure how much data i can store…

ParticipantClear proof that it all fit in the same comment, that’s good. I thought perhaps a link could only be one link. Well you’ve released new versions since then, so I’ll pick up and delve a bit deeper, and try again…

KeymasterUI update
no updates inside…
January 31, 2021 at 6:04 pm #8699philippe
ParticipantInteresting… In your last post, you talked about Duration multiplier (you know I like that). But I guess it’s only internal, no user setting ?
0.90 : aren’t the clocks heavily drifting along time ? Bccause once settled, the A & B rhythms don’t vary in time, are they ? Not at my computer …
January 31, 2021 at 8:22 pm #8700Dave Dove
Keymasterhey Philippe
- duration multiplier is internal only
- no drifting here but there is a timing issue i found when looking for your drift – more later
more later:
- there’s something odd happening with timing until the 1st clock reset
- drawing the white grid squares is misbehaving

Keymasterattached is updated UI
not on my laptop so may not show inline
some of the timing stuff is fixed:
- clock reset/free count is now correct and global
- haven’t tested for first measure timing but will be due to initialisation stuff and there is a m4l bug too
- grid pattern squares drawing is fixed
- added A&B *4 multipliers for duration

ParticipantAn annoying behaviour (also in Iosif IIRC) : too many, even not recorded/touches parameters are recorded as automation moves.
Annoying because it messes with the Undo history.
In attached screen, I only moved the ones with full names.

Keymasteri got sick of squinting at alfred:
no download yet
colours and alignment aren’t quite there
loads of code tweaks…
undo history: there’s a whole load of no fixes on the interweb – i believe the issue is to do with parameter visibility… if a parameter is visible to mapping/automation then anything you do with it goes into the undo history… ableton’s answer to this is to hide it but then it can’t be automated – which is where the fun is – so unless i find a fix i’m afraid it stays as is…

ParticipantConcerning UI, I feel we almost had it in previous versions, Dave.

Keymasterphilippe: i hate you 😉
i spent too long staring at the dark one
i can’t use live’s dark skins either
this one is a bit too utilitarian though
what it has done is made me optimise some controls etc.
February 2, 2021 at 2:42 pm #8728philippe
Participant??? could you explain ?
February 2, 2021 at 3:46 pm #8729Dave Dove
Keymasterhey philippe
i hate you = british humour = you’re right of course
i do like the lighter one but i know most prefer dark
i’ll maybe go for that look next time
